Psychotherapy
& EMDR
Welcome!

Engaging in therapy is a courageous and vulnerable process, it is a gift and a privilege to be entrusted as a provider of care and healing.

I focus on providing trauma-informed, neurologically-based, somatic (body-oriented), and culturally responsive care. I integrate these modalities with respect and humility to the uniqueness of each individual and the innate wisdom we all carry within us.
I offer individual therapy (Telehealth), through a secure HIPAA-compliant platform, to residents of California. My practice is located on the ancestral and unceded land of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe.

About
Christine Olson

Hi, I’m Christine (she/her)
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Certified EMDR Practitioner.
My style is warm, collaborative, and empowering. I place high value on developing a strong therapeutic relationship, built on trust and a sense of safety, as a foundation for healing work.
I am especially passionate and most commonly work with individuals of intersecting Queer/LGBTQIA, Trans/gender expansive, and BIPOC identities. I welcome discussion of the role one’s identities have on the therapeutic process, including inquiries about my identities and the impact on my role as a therapist.
In addition to my wonderful job as a therapist, I am also a mother, partner, daughter, and animal caregiver. Much of my energy outside of work is dedicated to raising and playing with my own child. When possible, I nurture myself through swimming, playing soccer, reading, spending quality time with loved ones, and getting immersed in nature. I am a consumer of therapy and believe in the benefit of doing my own internal processing/healing.

- Therapeutic Modalities -
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is regarded as the gold standard for the treatment of trauma including single-event, complex, and developmental/relational trauma.

Parts Work
Ego States Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gestalt therapy. Each of these modalities recognize the complexity of our internal experience and hold space for the coexistence of thoughts, feelings, needs, beliefs, and reactions.

Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy attunes to the connection between the mind and body as a whole, acknowledging that our physical sensations are inherently tied to our emotions, thoughts, and behavior.
